Amite, Louisiana Poster
2019
About this project
This project was prompted as a paying homage to various locations throughout Louisiana mimicking the Works Progress Administration (WPA) Style of posters seen in the United States in the early to mid-1900s. The final project would be displayed in Louisiana Court houses.
When first approached, I chose to design the poster as something that reflected my home town’s own heritage, a famous building that developed alongside a railroad track. The color palette is limited and muted to give the poster a vintage look, as though the poster itself is from the 1940s. The building today is abandoned, but here it shown its prime.
